About Dietitian
Lynne W. Scott, MA, RD, LD
Lynne is Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. She is a registered dietitian, licensed in the State of Texas. She was Director of the Diet Modification Clinic starting in 1971. She is responsible for the nutrition component of the General Clinical Research Center. She has published 50 scientific articles and has written six books in The Living Heart series, including the revision of The Living Heart Diet, which was on the New York Times Bestseller list, and The Living Heart Guide to Eating Out.

She has a private practice and enjoys working with individuals who need to lose weight and those with elevated cholesterol and/or triglyceride levels, high blood pressure, elevated blood glucose. She uses www.livingheart.com with many of her patients to assist them in making changes in their diet and lifestyle.

The Internet Diet Study, conducted by Lynne, with overweight individuals lost an average of 11 lbs. in six weeks, LDL cholesterol decreased 12%, triglycerides decreased 21%, glucose decreased 13%, and insulin decreased 26%. Participants rated the online diet study as very motivating (70%), very personalized (74%), and very convenient (91%).

Lynne completed a dietetic internship at Indiana University Medical Center and has a master's degree in Nutrition Education from Indiana University. Her undergraduate degree in Food and Nutrition was earned at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.
